Since 2018, our years have been full of injury, illness, recovery, setbacks, and more recovery. I suffered from my 6th major concussion which led to permanent damage, also called post-concussion syndrome. My son, after coming down with Covid-19 in October 2020, went into Long Covid, now known as Post-acute Sequelae of Covid-19 (PASC). He spent almost a year in physical and occupational therapy, as well as dealing with continuing pain, neuro fatigue, and exertion fatigue. As part of his PASC, he has been diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, post-exertional malaise, orthostatic intolerance, and amplified pain syndrome. We have learned that life is more than our illness and injury. Through the pain, you can still find joy and have a life full of love, family, friends, and a lot of laughter.
